BOOKING QUESTIONS

How much does it cost? How do I make a reservation?

It’s $165 USD per person. The only way to make a reservation is to book online at http://stushinthebush.com/visit-us. A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking and is refundable up to 10 days before your visit. A gratuity of 15% is charged for parties of 6 or more, whether the bookings were made individually or as a single group booking. Deposits for December are non-refundable.

What days are you open for guests?

We’re open twice a week on FRIDAYS and SUNDAYS at 1 PM. We’re always closed on Saturdays. If you’re interested in a private booking on another day of the week please email us at contact@stushinthebush.com and we’ll see what’s possible. Private bookings attract an additional $350 USD fee and is subject to our team’s availability.

Can I choose the dishes I want?

We offer a prix fixe menu that is dependent on seasonality, what is growing on the farm, and what can be sourced sustainably.  

What if there are certain vegetables that I don’t eat?

We encourage you to try everything, but if you have certain allergies please let us know when you book.

Do you make traditional Jamaican cuisine?

We prepare reimagined Jamaican fare that is dependent on seasonality.

Do you serve meat?

We are ital. We are fully plant based.

It’s my birthday, can you make me a cake?

Sure, just let us know when you book and we’ll make sure we help you celebrate your special event.  Cake prices start at $90 USD.

Do you offer a discount for local residents?

We offer one standard price and menu for all guests.

What if I don’t have a PayPal account? Can I do a bank transfer for the deposit?

We REQUIRE deposits to confirm your reservation. We use PayPal for credit cards. If you don’t have a PayPal account you may be able to use PayPal as a guest, which does not require account creation. Bank transfers are also accepted.

Is the Earth Walk/Farm Tour included?

A walk in the Ites garden is included and a beautiful part of the experience. It encourages connection to the earth and brings out your inner earth steward.

Can I have wine with my meal?

Yes! We have a few options... We offer wines by the glass and bottle, and select rums. We also have a specially curated pairing option that includes wine, local craft beer and hard cider when you are booking your experience.

Can I bring my own wine?

No, unfortunately we no longer offer corkage. You must purchase alcohol at the Farm.

Why are you closed on Saturdays?

Saturday is our day of rest. We don’t make any exceptions for bookings on that day.

Will I be eating with people I don’t know?  

The drawing room is a large beautiful indoor space with an outdoor vibe because of its eight feet windows. Our farm to table dining experience is a communal one, so you can expect to see your neighbors. Your group will be seated together at your own table. If you are a couple, it is possible that you will share the long tables, seated at either ends.


ARRIVAL QUESTIONS

  • How long will it take me to reach the farm?

    • Approximately 40 minutes from Ocho Rios

    • Approximately 40 minutes from Runaway Bay

    • Approximately 90 minutes from Montego Bay

    • Approximately 90 minutes from Kingston

    • Approximately 2 hours from Portland

    • Approximately 3 hours from Negril

  • Should I arrive earlier than my booking time for the Farm Tour?

    • No, we have factored in the Farm Tour with timing for the entire experience.

  • What if I’m late for my visit?

    • If you’re more than 30 minutes late you will most likely miss the Jamaican Mezze or part or all of the earth walk.

  • If I arrive early can I hang out?

    • The road to our farm is closed. We start pick ups at 1pm promptly. Chris will meet you and shuttle you down to the farm if your vehicle is not a four wheel drive.

  • Should I drive all the way down to the Farm?

    • Please don’t. Please call upon arrival and Chris will advise. If your car is unsuitable for the road a shuttle will be provided.


VISIT QUESTIONS

I can’t find directions, where are you located?

We are not a restaurant. You must have a reservation to visit us. For that reason, and because we are inviting you into our home, we only provide directions upon booking. PLEASE DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS!

Can I come to the Farm for the Earth Walk only?

A walk in the Ites garden is a part of the dining experience, we don’t offer it separately.

How should I dress?

Although we are “in the bush” we encourage you to dress for this STUSH experience as you would any other grand affair because we believe that the bush is just as beautiful as any ballroom. Dress for a cool breeze and a lot of earth. Smart, classy casual is strongly encouraged, beachwear is not permitted, collared shirts are encouraged, “marina” and flip flops or slides for men are not permitted.

You may want to bring a light sweater, shawl or long sleeved shirt as it can be a bit cool some days at the farm. Also note that if it's been raining it can be extra earthy, flip flops and heels may not be preferred.

What should I bring? 

You can bring along hand sanitizer, sunscreen, sun hat, change of footwear for the farm tour, and insect repellent. We ask that you use natural insect repellent because we are regenerative and natural. We have some available in case you forget. Also you may want to bring floor cushions and blankets to add to what we offer.

You have dogs…can they be locked away?

We have several large dogs who are a big part of our Family. They aren’t dangerous, just friendly and curious. We don’t lock them away.

Can you arrange for transportation?

Yes, at an additional cost. Please advise us upon booking if you need assistance arranging transportation.

Is my driver allowed to participate in the experience? Yes, your driver is allowed to participate in the experience at the full rate. As another option, we offer a packaged plant based meal that your driver can pick up from the kitchen. You may select this option when booking your Experience.

How much time should I plan to spend at STUSH in the BUSH?

Plan on spending about 4-5 hours. If you have a time constraint, please let us know when you book your visit.

Do you offer accommodations?

We have just completed our very first cabin! “By Your Side” is a beautiful one bedroom bungalow on the site of our original bush cabin, nestled in a lush grove of fruit trees. If you’re interested in reserving By Your Side, please email us at contact@stushinthebush and we’ll see what’s possible.

There are hotels and guest houses close by, you can check Trip Advisor or Airbnb for recommendations in Ocho Rios, Mammee Bay, St. Ann’s Bay or Runaway Bay.

Can I buy products while I’m there?

Yes, based on availability.  The best way to do so is to order in advance here: http://stushinthebush.com/shop and pick up during your visit.

What happens if it rains?

We are an outdoor venue, which means that if the weather is severely inclement (torrential rain and high winds) we may have to cancel. We will notify you via email and text message if that happens.

  • Do you cater?

    • Yes! “Stush in Another Bush” catering services are available for personal events, corporate events and retreats. We also are available for small boutique weddings, rehearsal dinners and general celebrations, both on and off the the farm. If you are interested in securing our catering services, please supply your vision and budget via email and we are happy to provide you with a quote.
